This book is the catalog of a retrospective exhibition of the work of Fonchen Lord, a Florida artist who followed and significantly contributed to the artistic avant-garde during the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition, curated by Ann Gurley Rogers, was held at the Melvin Art Gallery of Florida Southern College from September 20 through October 10, 2013. The catalog includes color photos of 27 of the works in the exhibition and 7 color photos of general views of the exhibition. There are essays discussing the place of Lord's work in the art world, outlining her biography, and describing her ideas. Also included is list of exhibitions in which she participated, awards she received, and public and corporate collections which accessioned her work.
