In the book of Daniel, we are told that seventy weeks are determined upon the children of Israel and upon the city of Jerusalem. Attention is given in this writing to the last of these weeks; the seventieth week. Through comparing scripture with scripture, insights are provided into the events of this week and suggestions are made about the future temple of God, the 144,000 and the identity of Melchizedek. The numbers of days that are uniquely referred to in the book of Daniel are considered in the context of what could happen in the seventieth week. Whilst there are many events that will take place on earth during this week (that are detailed in the book of Revelation), the central theme of this writing is God's dealings with the children of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. This topic presents attributes of God that can be challenging to our perceptions, which exist alongside his promise of salvation to the children of Israel.
