A clever, funny owl called Oswald meets Caramelina, a fairy with borrowed, dragonfly wings who guards a very hot egg that's burning the grass beneath his tree. Meanwhile, Reynata the fox has lost her cubs and asks Oswald and Caramelina to help her find them. In return, she offers to look after the egg before it goes out and before it hatches. Agreeing to swap their problems, her new friends fly off in search of her cubs leaving her in charge. Reynata cuddles the egg but finds it unbearably hot and wonders if she's made a mistake. Is it possible for a fox to be friends with a bird? Can a fox look after an egg and keep it safe, without being tempted to eat it? And, will the cubs be reunited with their mum? Read on and find out. "The fox and the egg" is a story for children aged 7-8 years onwards.
