Aluminium doesn't rust! In the early 1950's ariel photographs of an aluminium B29 that crash landed in the Arctic four years earlier clearly show the plane is rusting, the US takes a keen interest, especially when experts confirm no natural causes. Thoughts initially turn to Soviet involvement, then to potentially weaponising it for themselves. A party of four civilian scientists join four army engineers to investigate but when contact is lost shortly after they arrive, suspicions against Russia deepen. Even as the US tries to mount a rescue mission with only one available vessel nearby, the military send in a three man team to be their eyes on the ground and to find, kill or capture the Russians. Initial reports contain nothing of any note until the ship arrives and is promptly lost. Then their reports become darker and more disturbing leaving those back in the US floundering as to what exactly is happening and finally accepting they have only one course of action. Or do they?
