George Neve was an ordinary man from Hastings, Sussex. Just newly married when WW2 came calling. George wasn't the kind of man to fight, he couldn't kill, so he did the opposite, he nursed and saved lives. As a nursing orderly in the RAMC George saw active service in Sicily, Italy and was dropped by Glider into Arnhem before being captured by the enemy. With a young daughter and new baby at home George didn't know if he would get home again. He did, but it came at a price. A loving, caring family man who rarely spoke of his time in the war. Now after 4 years of research his story becomes clear to all, and perhaps a better understanding of why his end came when it did.
