Chief Powhatan (c. 1547 - c. 1618), father of Pocahantas, was the leader of the Powhatan, an alliance of Algonquian-speaking Native Americans living in Tsenacommacah, in the Tidewater region of Virginia at the time when English settlers landed at Jamestown in 1607. He had assembled a total of about 30 tribes into the Powhatan Confederacy by the early 17th century. The confederacy was estimated to include 10,000-15,000 people. This book "Chief Powhatan - Tidewater Titan" lays out the history of his involvement with the early colonists of Jamestown Virginia, Captain John Smith, his daughter Pocohantas, and many other occurances of peace and hostilities which will entertain and educate the reader on the early beginnings of colonization of the United States.
