This book is about the fifties and within the book I wanted to capture the people and sense of the times, and the importance of this, with regard to who I am today. The fifties were a time that was full of promise and everything was changing in the world, and I was proud to be a part of this. The themes of the day have shaped who I am today and the people I met in the process of the journey were fundamental to who I became as an adult and how I dealt with events within my life. I hope in the making of this work that I have captured a snapshot of yesterday that the reader can enjoy and remember the fabulous times the fifties were. Within the poetry I have tried to show the process of both change and the spirit of the people around me at this time, encompassing their survival and their lives. I stand now in awe of them and the times we had, and feel that it was important that this was collated in this book. I hope you enjoy the ride back to yesterday.
