By divine design, God expects every one of his children to end up serving him by using their God-given potentials. The problem with this is that many believers lack the proper training and equipping necessary to render quality (or reasonable) service to God. We must realize that not every service attracts a reward from the Lord (Rom. 12:1). There is a "how to serve God." It is not just enough to know "what" you desire to do or "why" you desire to do it; until you know "how" to do it, then no quality work will be done. Gehazi rendered "unreasonable" service and received leprosy instead of a mantle from his mentor! The burden of many Pastors and ministry leaders would be reduced somewhat if only they had a competent, well trained, spiritually furnished, and of course, a faithful, loyal work force. This he uses as a yardstick to evaluate you, to see whether you are qualified to hold trust for Him. A mentor can be the difference between poverty and prosperity, decrease and increase, loss and gain, pain and pleasure, deterioration, and restoration.
