The year is 1777 and some say Diana is uncatchable. A skilled spy, sneaking from town to town, carefully making her way through the unforgiving, hostile roads of the newly formed United States, she has earned her reputation. She's never alone, though. Alex, Diana's partner and closest friend, is a hunter of sorts. For a profit, Alex slays demonic creatures, preventing the general public from ever knowing of their existence. Versed in the rules and tales of the eldritch and the cursed, Alex has taken it upon himself to fight them wherever they are, but every day means violence. British imperial forces still roam, smugglers and other spies connive in the shadows, and Diana and Alex just continue on with their missions. Everything takes a turn for the worse when a pair of marauders with magical abilities find their way to American soil. They're not of any known country, the gifts they possess have never been seen before, and yet they embark on their own mission. Rumors have spread about an object, a mysterious relic, that can track demons. It's unprecedented. For the pair of magic users, it's a source of new power. For Diana and Alex, it's just what they need to complete their mission of hunting down every demon. The relic is found quickly, Diana and Alex find allies and enemies in the most unlikely places, and new battles begin in the blink of an eye.
