This guide attempts to achieve two goals. First, all the events in the four Gospels are listed in chronological order similar to that in A Layman's Harmony of the Gospels by John Franklin Carter, 1961, Broadman Press. Since some of the authors of the four gospels did not always narrate events chronologically, this author has rearranged the material in parallel columns so the reader can more easily compare the accounts with one another. The second goal is that, if an event is described in more than one gospel, the scriptures will be placed in parallel columns with the corresponding verses from each gospel on the same line. If the event is mentioned in only one gospel, a one-line entry will be made describing that event with the corresponding reference.
