During the fall of 1944, the United States Army's 317th Infantry Regiment, experienced a desperate fight against the Germans over Hill 407: Mont Saint Jean. The unit's movement and actions with taking the hill are captured directly from from the historical reports of the 80th Infantry Division and the 317th Infantry Regiment, as well as from the memoirs told by Dr. Ernest V. Orsi to his grandson.
