I began writing poetry my sophomore year after I transferred from a small community college. As I began to adjust to life at a four-year school, I found that I had to navigate friendship and love in a way I had never had to face before. I needed an outlet, and as an overthinker, writing poetry is like writing a diary in code. I am not always proud of how I feel, and I often find myself falling apart over wanting to believe in people and struggling to let things go. The past two years have been extremely taxing and emotionally draining. However, I am grateful for these experiences-no matter how painful they have been. What you will see in the following pages is a documentation of the process of personal growth and understanding that I will never take for granted again.
