The tale of a curious subadult boar grizzly bear as he learns about life, both lived in the forest and in the human world that surrounds it. Ursa Major: The Adventures Homeric of Ulysses the Bear is a hardcover compilation of all eighteen books of the series bearing the same name. The series spans the gamut from taking online courses and following a supply chain to dealing with insomnia and hoarding and even addresses topics like grief, fashion, and creative writing. Each chapter covers one paperback book in the original series, detailing a stand-alone adventure while contributing to an overarching narrative about growing up. These are 'read-to' books intended to build vocabulary and to inspire further questions. Being a bear, Ulysses is unable to communicate. This persistent theme of a language barrier runs through the series, often punctuated with Animal Control and tranquillizer darts (an expression of the illustrator C. Jared Castor's own struggles communicating and connecting with others). The entire series has been reformatted from Trade Paperback to US Letter aspect ratio (in large print), with each book's images carefully amended and colorized. Each chapter book in the collection has additionally had its introduction revised to better flow from the cover image to its first interior image. Additionally, both the Author and the Illustrator have written prefaces to introduce the compilation. [This book is printed in standard color: as such the pages may be warped slightly towards the front of the book. This is not the fault of the printer but rather the book's illustrator; to offer this book on thicker paper would be prohibitively expensive. Warping might improve over time if the book is stored flat under other heavy books.]
