Paddy is now a young adult, and once again the Elfic Realm is threatened by evil, in the persons of Wargo and Zoltar. Since Zoltar is from the Earth Realm, and only an earthling can use the Emerald to destroy the two evil ones without destroying himself, Paddy’s friend Daryl must once again become mortal. The two friends depart on the mission to destroy evil. Daryl, having now lost his elfic powers, is given protection by the fairy, Goldy, and by the supreme wizard, who gives him custody of the magic stone. After many adventures, which include the supreme wizard’s daughter, Soledad, as one of the group, the mission is accomplished. Daryl is changed back to being an elf, and Paddy realizes that he cannot face the coming centuries without having Soledad as his eternal companion.
