Although Marines have a duty-first, tough guy reputation, there are some fortunate ones who get to show the uniform in a more public place, such as parades in cities, at the burials of lost comrades, and many more that are initiated by the Marines doing the duty. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in many of these over a twenty-year enlistment.
