Chasing Venus explores one young girlas experiences running away from a home in turmoil, and toward something she knows is missing inside. Itas a story about a mixed-race Native American teen named Kasey Watson. The setting is mid 1970s on Long Island, New York. Being mixed-anything was not socially accepted. Being Native American was not acool, a as it may seem today.Kasey struggles with abuse, alcoholism, drugs, and constant confusion a then slips into depression.
