Wayne Singer was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1938. He did not live what one might call a conservative life. After graduating high school in 1956, he attended Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, as a pre-med major. Then he attended Marietta College in Ohio (again as pre-med), the United States Army Medical Corps in Ft. Sam Houston in Texas, and Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, where he earned his BS and MBA degrees. He REALLY lucked out when he met Judy Bacco of Lodi, NJ, and married the love of his life and fathered two wonderful sons. Wayne was a Type A, high-stress perfectionist who worked and played too hard and was a medical mishap waiting to happen. Life did not disappoint. At work, as an operations executive with retailers such as Macyas, as a travel agency owner, as a private investigator, or as a law enforcement officer, he was riding the fast track. At play he spent his alow-stressa time as a private pilot, a certified SCUBA, or at the combat pistol range. He survived nine major surgeries by the age of 47 as well as minor surgeries as a youth. He has learned to protect himself in the medical/hospital environment. This was written 25 years after Wayneas first major heart attack when the doctors told his wife not to expect him to leave the hospital alive.
