This is a collection of stories told to me by my father of his childhood in northwest Florida, and of my own childhood growing up in one of the greatest places on earth. My father was born and raised on a farm in rural Florida about 50 miles north of present day Panama City, Florida. His wit and wisdom were admired by many who knew him and though he saw himself as just a simple man, in many ways he was the wisest man I have ever known. He was without a doubt the most entertaining man I have ever met. This collection is written from memories, both my family’s and mine, so some of the facts may not be exact but as Dad would say, Don’t never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.
