Presidents and Pies: Life in Washington, 1897-1919 (1920)

Kat, a young girl of sixteen lives on a ten acre farm up the ridge from Honey Hollow, Pennsylvania, with her father, grandfather, four brothers, three dogs, one cat and a goldfish, not to mention the hundred head of cattle and about two dozen chickens. Life for the family has been difficult since her mother passed away in an accident and after nine long years the family has yet to completely heal. Life for Kat begins to change when she meets down the road an injured horse named Ben and the handsome boy holding his lead, Owen McCarwin.
