Anna had wanted to see New York City, with all its bustle and excitement, for as long as she could remember. Now it slipped into the distance and the nightmare she was living slithered into the recesses of her mind.In the year 1930, midway between the two great world wars, a young girl is faced with a political marriage to someone she has never met.
