Keiko (Kay) Yoshinobu is an attorney on Elima, one of the Hawaiian Islands. With their criminal-law specialty, she and her partner, Sid Chu, find more than enough work to keep them busy. Kay, however, is usually occupied in doing much more than defending her clients. She specializes, much to Sidas dismay, in investigating the background of just about everyone involved in her cases. The results, as can be seen in these fourteen short stories, are often fruitful, sometimes disappointing, but always surprising.
