One day I was watching television and I saw Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. They were having trouble. I said to myself, Bobby sure can dance and Whitney sure can sing, and those are talents nobody can take from them. So I asked the Lord, What is my talent? And He said to me in a small, still voice, You can write. I said, I know I can write church papers. He said again, You can write stories. I said, I’m going to see. So, I got a pencil and I sat down and started to write. The first story I wrote was Lottie and Dottie’s Birthday Party. That created a monster in me. From that day on, I have been story crazy. I like children and I wanted to do something to help children. My stories are stories that grandparents can read to their grandchildren without worrying about grammar and content. The Wood Rats Dragging Their Long Tales Behind Them is a collection of my stories.
