Our Calendar: The Julian Calendar and Its Errors, How Corrected by the Gregorian (1893)

Joey Daniels hates to read; in fact, he has never read an entire story in his life. That is, until he goes to spend the summer with an old aunt. A mysterious book and a magical tree transport him back to the time of Noah’s flood. Joey and his pet rat, Rascal, are among the animals and humans as they prepare for the flood waters. Joey looks for a way to get back to the present before the rains start. When getting home doesn’t prove easy, Joey realizes he may have to ride out the storm in the massive ship. With just a faithful old man, his family, and over one hundred fifty thousand species of animals, snakes, bugs, playful kittens and cuddly bunnies, Joey realizes that he and Rascal may have to join the floating menagerie, as the promise is fulfilled.
