An old man of the African bush and his city-raised grandson go on an adventure to teach the boy about the wonders and hazards of the bush country. This old hunter has spent most of his life in the rugged African wilds and, though he cannot read or write, he is an expert of the first order on life in the bush. They eventually meet up with the boy’s uncle in a small river village that has recently been set upon by an illegal poaching operation. The moral character of the village is challenged by the temptations of vast amounts of goods and money available to them if they participate with the poachers. What began as an educational journey for the boy soon becomes a life lesson in values, as the simple subsistence life of the naive villagers is pitted against a sinister cartel.
