He took advantage of every opportunity to ingratiate himself to those with power and influence, and learned to grease the palms of all the right people. He played the part of a well-educated, polished mobster with such success even he believed it to be true. He was a Playboy key club member, wore custom-made designer shirts, and his suits were tailor-made. He wore a flashy ring with a diamond the size of a raisin on the right hand of his manicured nails. Although he never maintained a monogamous relationship, even during his five marriages, he treated every one of his ladies respectfully regardless of the role they played in his life. Each reinvention of himself was more profitable than the one before. Each required a little further loosening of his morale code.
