Arkansas, 1953. The war in Korea is over and many families see the return of their husbands and dads. Many, but not all. For 9-year-old Charlie Walker, the end of the war brings his dad home to Strawberry Ridge … and a new baby to the family – a girl sister he’s not sure he ever wanted. But it doesn’t take long for little Annie to win the hearts of the entire Walker family and everyone else in Strawberry Ridge. Trouble begins to brew when a new family moves to town … trouble that leads to tragedy. Overcome with guilt, Charlie leaves home in search of an uncle who may or may not be alive, and who may or may not even want to see him if he is. But family is everything; Charlie knows that much.
