Full Circle by Janet Stimson [songs] and Deborah Stimson-Snow [score] is a cycle of 12 songs for soprano and baritone about a young couple that take on the challenges of pioneer life and seek to survive as a family. The themes of hope, birth, death, forgiveness, renewal and home are interwoven in both text and music. Reminiscent of Aaron Copland and Ralph Vaughn Williams, the songs are both folk-like and classical in style. This story-based cycle is an excellent concert piece for a theatrical young man and woman. They include Morning, Dance, Ash Grove, Raise the Roof, A Star This Side the Moon, What Will Do, Loss, Away, Like a Bird, Longing, Home and Full Circle.
