Forensic animal expert Annie Montgomery had gone to university to escape her small New Mexico hometown, but unwittingly became the only person qualified to help them deal with their unique problem. To her dismay, she is practically forced to return to the place she never wanted to see again and the people she desperately wanted to forget.
