Dan/Hani, the protagonist in this long-form poem, is an astronaut. He has exited the plant Earth after nuclear war to go to Mars.

Dan/Hani is an emotional man with a love

of writing poetry. In his diary, he writes a

poem - as one continuous piece - of the events and

his feelings. This book is that diary.

When he arrives on Mars, there is one other human being already there, a woman, herself an astronaut. The two of them realise maybe they are all that is left of humanity. Dan/Hani fairly quickly falls madly in love. Eventually Nava says she loves him too.

The diary describes their very tempestuous relationship as it unfolds.
