The first part of this book is based on a public conversation with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche held at Kellogg College, University of Oxford. Ringu Tulku brings the centuries-old Tibetan Kagyu lineage teachings of Buddhism to meet the equally long-established lineage of learning and teaching that is Oxford University, offering timeless wisdom for the issues of our times.

The topics covered include: living and working together in harmony; leadership, education and learning; the nature of wisdom and knowledge; and how to approach day to day issues, as well as crises, of our time. The text leads into some of Ringu Tulku's more general Buddhist teachings, expanding and deepening themes such as the importance of our attitude, karma, and creating a path in life. It finishes by introducing the Eightfold Path, which Buddha taught as a means of freeing ourselves from confusion and suffering.

The text speaks directly to the heart, whether one follows the teachings of Buddhism or is simply generally interested in these topics. As one reader commented: "Ringu Tulku's teachings are like a ray of rainbow light in dark times."

There are teachings in here that will be of interest to long term practitioners of the Buddhist path: Ringu Tulku elucidates profound truths in heartfelt, eloquent ways. The text also provides an accessible presentation for those new to Buddhism, starting from a secular viewpoint through the conversation held at Oxford University.
