After a fateful shipwreck, Davy washes up on a beach in a box of maps uncertain if Arabella has perished. He is plunged into thetreacherous world of Cornwall's smugglers, lost and alone in a foreign land.

Returning to England on a secret quest to rescue her imprisoned younger brother, Arabella is fully aware she risks capture for her crimes of international piracy.
