David Hamilton's Long and Winding Road chronicles his remarkable journey from a remote farm in Sussex, where he dreamt of the bright lights, to a broadcasting career spanning seven decades across the UK and America.

This path eventually brought him back, after over fifty years, to the very farm where he started, from which he now broadcasts on national radio in his mid-eighties. Hamilton's journey took him to Germany, where, during his National Service in the RAF, he became one of the first DJs to play rock'n'roll. Four years later, he conducted one of the first TV interviews with a new band called The Beatles. Over the years, he has presented thousands of radio shows and hosted various television programs, including Top of the Pops, beauty contests, sports, and game shows, often appearing alongside top comedians. In this candid memoir, Hamilton shares his experiences working with comedy legends like Ken Dodd, Benny Hill, and Tommy Cooper.

He recounts surviving two serious car crashes in his twenties, participating in a speedway race at Wembley Stadium, serving as a football club director, and playing for the England team that won the World Cup in 1966.

Hamilton also writes about the beautiful women he has loved, offering insights into his life, loves, and laughs. It's all here, from one of Britain's most enduring broadcasters.
