Anzio Artillery

Discusses the German and Allied artillery at Anzio. The engagement lasted 124 days and involved 185,000 Allied troops, 600 artillery guns, 530 bombers and 8 warships, in addition to all the supporting services. A prodigious supply operation afforded on average and unloading of 4,000 tons per day over beaches and hards. Looks at how the beachhead came into existence in addition to the tactical situation which existed in Italy during the winter of 1943.
