USAF Combat Search and Rescue

This paper will provide background information on how CSAR forces are currently utilized in GWOT and highlight the need for better application of three doctrinal air and space power tenets leading to more effective and efficient utilization of the force. It will finish with recommendations on how to better employ these forces to support a broader range of mission areas in this new era that requires rapid response to unexpected threats and crisis at home and abroad. USAF CSAR can be a more agile, multifaceted capability able to rapidly respond to unexpected or emerging crisis across the spectrum of conflict.
