This monograph examines the components and relationships in the tactical command and control system of the tank and mechanized infantry battalion task force. The paper views command and control as a system from conceptual and functional perspectives. Beginning with the abstract, various theoretical models illustrate system functions and activity. Relevant battalion level doctrine is reviewed.
