Brace Heller, the Shorts & Sandals Detective, gets the surprise of his life when movie producer Shale Monroe shows up at the office with the intent of shadowing Brace to get a feel for the life of a detective. When Brace is told he has no choice but to accept Shale's presence, he finds himself in the midst of a cheating spouse case that may not be what it seems. And things really heat up when his longtime friend, Puno, asks Brace to keep an eye on his ex-wife, whose new boyfriend may be abusing her. Then, when Brace's longtime girlfriend, Marina, suffers a devastating loss, Brace finds his hands full with a cheating spouse, a potentially abusive boyfriend, and dealing with overwhelming grief.
