Trails to El Yunque is a collection of short stories that LaVerne Gonz lez wrote in the mid 20th century from her experiences with her husband Tony in Puerto Rico. LaVerne Gonz lez thrived through adversity. She was raised during the depression in a single parent environment. In midlife, she completed her education and went on to become a university professor, quite an accomplishment. Throughout every challenge life posed, LaVerne demonstrated both brilliance and resilience. Her ability to tell stories was a lifelong gift.
