Nations and religions use pictorial symbols to identify themselves and express their ideals. Symbols such as flags, stop signs, or the colors of a Rastafari Crown are visual. The inventions of symbols rank among our oldest and most basic abilities, an example would be the letters of the alphabet or the Great Pyramids.
