In a world where black boys are considered bad just because of the color of their skin. Where their self esteem and self love has been ripped away. Where positive role models and images seem to be far and few, there needs to be an emphasis on self worth, self love, and self appreciation especially when it comes to boys. There is a need for positive images and stories that truthfully reflect our children THE THINGS THAT I LIKE ABOUT ME promotes just that. It tells the story, in the simplest form, of a young black boy who sees himself and decides that he likes the person he is., THE THING THAT I LIKE ABOUT ME is a children’s book told through words that kids can read and enjoy and accompanied by photographs featuring the young Actor Tanner Dewayne Grant.
