Anna, Katherine, and Priscilla are three young officers in the Border Protection unit of the Homeland Security forces. Kath is commander of a fast cruiser which plies the waters around the U.S. / Canadian border and the islands of the Pacific Northwest. The trio’s mission is to keep the sensitive area free of terrorists, smugglers, drunken boat drivers, and worse. The rules and technology of security management have changed markedly in the 35 years since a new right-wing President was elected in the U.S. in 2016. Societal causes have shifted in various ways, one leading to many more women in positions of leadership in education, religion, politics, information technology, heavy industry, and government. Women have advanced well beyond women’s lib and their traditional matriarchal roles. The three women sailors have a range of physical skills at their beck and call, and don’t hesitate to use them in dealing with wrongdoers. Priscilla is the eldest of the trio. At 6ft 1in, with wide shoulders, she runs like a hare, is a crack shot, martial arts expert, and dead-lifts more than Anna and Kath. Anna is a couple of inches shorter, incredibly fit, agile as a monkey, swims like a fish, keen as they come. Cute, pixie face. Just twenty-three years old. Has fiery red hair masking an amazing intellect. She’s the strategist of the group, always thinking ahead, anticipating moves to offset those of the group’s quarries. Kath is 26 years old, and has been in the job 4 years. This is her third team in that time, but without a doubt, the best. Kath admits to being not quite as good looking as her partners but still appealing, especially to the menfolk. Over time she’s had relationships with several of them. But now prefers her own kind. Gentler, sexier, more understanding.
