The Blackguard’s Gambit

Description- After the United States defaults on its debt in the mid 2030’s, elements of the severely underfunded and downsized military are deployed in the northeast to restore order after massive civil unrest resulting from inflation and disappearing government entitlements. Once in place, a cabal of disaffected officers assassinate their own leadership and launch a sneak attack on Washington, killing the President, and most of his cabinet and Congress. Thomas Jackson, Secretary of Defense at the time of the attacks is suddenly thrust into the position of President and must grapple not only with Russian-backed rebels in the northeast, but also Mexican forces who use the opportunity to invade in order to seize territory and nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, China makes plans to take possession of Midwestern farmland that it considers collateral for the unpaid debt and which it desperately needs to feed it’s massive population.

Written from the viewpoints of soldiers and survivalists on the front lines to the Generals and politicians directing the action, this book paints a picture of a potential dystopian future that must be prevented at all costs.
