The Story of Amal, The Story of Hope: The Trotters of Tweeville Go Global!

The Story of Amal, a Story of Hope begins with Amal, who is one of the characters on the journey of migration after being displaced from their native country. Each child takes the reader through their experience of displacement and migration by describing their experiences in their native countries as well as their journey to where they are now on the path to migration. As Amal, Armagon, and Noor demonstrate childhood does not stop in the face of adversity. The warm welcome they receive from their friend, Alexis and his grandfather gives them the hope and strength to continue on the journey to fulfilling their hopes and dreams. Since 2011, the turmoil in the Middle East. As a collaborative effort to provide a sense of comfort to these children, author and illustrator Shirin Zarqa-Lederman and The Refugee Workshop Group, of the International Psychology Department at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology began creating, The Story of Amal.
