A betrayal of the worst kind leads to an accident that changes Christie’s life. The work becomes all-consuming until Kell visits and forces Christie to have some time out. When he tries to convince Christie to settle things with Nate, she becomes agitated and refuses. Mrs Hunter contacts Christie and begs her to return; reluctantly Christie complies and a short-lived truce is brokered with Nate. When Nate realises he has blundered he begs Christie to forgive him and asks for a new start.Nate quits his medical practice and he and Christy move to a regional town. Nate, busy with setting up his practise and jealous of Christie’s close relationship with Kell, shuts Christie fights to keep the relationship going, but when Nate is caught in an embrace with his theatre nurse Christie gives Nate an ultimatum.Tired of the emotional turmoil, Christie calls the relationship off and retreats from contact with Nate. When Nate realises his mistake, he tries to reconcile with Christie. After so much heart ache, will she relent and let Nate back into her life?
