This study is full of faith-building inspiration that will turn any life around from humdrum to a renewed sense of the limitless power of God, the beauty and power in His Word. A book to transform and build the Christian life.Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. The Word is part of God Himself, and it reveals His character, personality, and heart. Together we will uncover the many treasures found within the holy Scriptures.Following, are several facts about the Bible that will help to clarify the nature and character of God: Fact One: God and His Word are one. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1Fact Two: The Word of God was written as men were led by the Holy Spirit, and there were scribes that recorded the words spoken by the prophets (2 Peter 1:21). Baruch wrote the words that God gave to Jeremiah. The epistles were letters that Paul the apostle wrote as he was led by the Holy Spirit: For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13Fact Three: God’s promises are true. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.2 Corinthians 1:20 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11Fact Four: We obtain His promises.Do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12 …By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23Fact Five: God wants to fulfill His promises to all who believe. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:8; Luke 11:10Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11
