Living a life with a physical flaw is a challenge in itself. One has to learn to navigate through life with challenges that affect ones entire existence. The concept of this work highlights as well as identifies the struggle that those of us with disabilities face daily. In an effort to clearly communicate the difficulties that are faced on an ongoing basis by those with such challenges will be articulated in this work.
After facing legal battles that led up to me being sued by an entity that refused to properly accommodate me, I was inspired to pin this work. In an effort to empower those with disabilities to standup for themselves this work was birthed. My hope is that this work will inspire the disabled community to be bold and courageous when it comes to standing up for what is legally our right. Additionally, my hope is that those who read this work that are not physically disabled will be driven with a passion and empathy to understand the lives that are led by the disabled community.
Lastly, I hope that in telling my story that one will be enlightened while becoming informed about just how difficult it is to live this lifestyle. You as the reader will experience my complete vulnerability, susceptibility, and pure transparency in this work. This all in an effort to empower the reader to a greater understanding. Like any of my works the goal is to always educate, motivate, and provoke thought to action. In this work one will be surprised, shocked in some instances, mad, and maybe even saddened by some of the real-life experiences I reveal. However, the goal is to shine a light on to a very real problem that exists in this world and that is disability discrimination.
The significance of the number $4,375 will be made clear in this work, and I challenge you the reader to connect the dots and see why it has changed my life in a plethora of ways. Thank you for supporting this work.
