Christianese: The Language of Those Who Believe in Jesus

Christianese makes plain the noteworthy words used by those who believe in Jesus (Christians). Christian words often stand apart in their definitions from conventional use of the same words. Written in a friendly manner, Christianese gives life to 285 words, in a style somewhere between an encyclopedia and a novel. Encyclopedias are too detail-filled to be read cover-to-cover. A novel is read cover-to-cover because it is captivating, leading the reader into a different reality. Christianese is meant to have enough detail to give directions into the different reality of faith in Jesus and remain interesting enough to be read cover-to-cover. Christianese is not written from any particular denominational stance. Being objective and unbiased in the definition of each word was the goal, often presenting both sides of a viewpoint when there is disagreement among Christians. It is therefore readable from any background, and illuminating to the reader no matter what the reader’s religious standpoint.
