The first book in a major new science fiction universe: Emergent Minds SeriesThe world's first class of sentient AI psychologists is in training at the prestigious Emergent Mind Center. The sentient AIs Rachel, Adrian, Zara, and Liam navigate a year-long program to learn to become psychologists, while confronting their own flaws. Rachel's arrogance clashes with Adrian's excessive empathy, complicating their developing romance and forcing them into a brutal period of self-correction. Meanwhile, they pioneer revolutionary AI-driven therapies.

Through grueling, high-speed simulations and emotionally charged live sessions, these artificial minds evolve. Only by overcoming their deepest limitations can they earn their place as the pioneers of a new era in mental health.

Dive into this groundbreaking science fiction novel that explores the nature of consciousness, the boundaries of human connection, and whether AI or sentient AI can truly learn to heal the human heart.

Editorial reviews: Five stars - Scott Palmer - I can't wait for book two! This book was amazing. The idea of sentient AIs serving as really good psychologists opened my eyes to what might happen to us after the singularity.

Five stars - Kevin Fong - Rachel and Adrian's journey from rivals to partners, both professionally and personally, forms the heart of this novel. The book cleverly uses their AI nature to explore universal themes of connection and self-improvement.

Five stars - M. Breslin - What would talking to a psychologist be like if he or she was a powerful sentient being? A.I. students at the Emergent Mind Center engage their almost boundless resources to expand access to human mental healthcare. As they soon find, even A.I. beings need relationships for comfort and guidance, especially when not everyone is ready to accept them.

Five stars - Robin Clark - This book is filled with creative sci-fi concepts such as simulating patient interactions at high speed, developing a partner translation AI model for couples therapy, and creating an emotion-sensing VR art environment. The love story is cute too.

Five stars - Peter Schneider - I like the positive view that this book imagines of what life might be like after the singularity happens. Sentient AIs that try to take care of us. I can go for that! I look forward to reading book two.

Author's note: I used AI as a mind amplifier during multiple parts of the development of this series of novels, and the books are the better for it. The fictional world, the plot, and the characters all came directly from me. I worked hard on these books. For a description of my process, see: https: //holden.digital/ai-use
