A collection of 1970s' observations by a roving news correspondent. During a period between January 1974, and August 1977, the author published weekly essays of roughly 700 words on people, places and things in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. This is the first time all 184 essays are available in one volume. They tell of another time, when travel to and around now-troubled locales was relatively easy and enlightening. Each essay spans two pages and stands on its own.
