Confessions of a Geek: Or How I Survived the Cliques, Condescension and Cruelty of Carnegie Academy

The Carnegie website that looks like it came straight from the Schools Where You’ll Never Fit In! cover of Dream Schools Magazine. Carnegie is big, expensive, impossible to get into and is prepared to manufacture the leaders of tomorrow. Of course, those leaders were once members of the unofficial, but ever-present legion of social cliques that occupy our cafeteria each and every day. Let’s see, we have the smart Asians, the robot nerds, the music geniuses, basketball jocks, the rich snobs the pops, cheerleaders, royalty, wannabes, band, Glee, dance crew, gamers, losers, geeks, stoners, juvie kids, LGBT, the black pride club, and more. The pops are the most popular girls in school. I’m not one of them, I’m a Geek.
