One Tricked Phoney

One Tricked Phoney is the first novel in the Nic Thorn & Associates Investigation series written by Byron James-Adams. A version of the story was released in November 2020, under the title "One Jaded Rose." It has been revised and republished to be made available under the Ingram Sparks catalogue. Other books in the series include Two Hurtled Gloves, Three French Bens, Four Brooding Birds, Five Mouldy Bins, Six Geezers Lying, Seven Hapless Hoops, Eight Dave's are Weak, Nine Means Know and Ten Little Idioms.

Rose needed a +1, but not for the usual wedding/party. She was going to a funeral and needed a quiet, unassuming type, but when Nic Thorn arrived he was anything but a wallflower. Rose and her BFF Sandy had time on their hands and soon found Nic could fill the void. He coerces them into his madcap investigations of scams, frauds, and genuine misunderstandings.

This modern-day adventure leads them from one lively caper to another, involving a portrait provenance, an invoice inaccuracy, and a recycler's relapse, on their travels from Brisbane, Adelaide, and across to the South Australian border.
